Augustine Bioethics Network
Membership
The Augustine Bioethics Network is a volunteer organisation, administered and overseen by a company limited by guarantee based in the United Kingdom. The network is supported by a committee, and an advisory board.
Above all the Network is a community of members. It is members who allow the Network to thrive and prosper. They are the beating heart of the organisation, facilitating research, education and dissemination of bioethical ideas.
There are two ways of becoming a member;
- Ordinary Members make an annual donation of a minimum of £24.00. The more our members are able to donate, the more the Network can expand and develop.
- Volunteer Members donate time and/or skills. This is dependent on the needs of the Network. Some examples of useful skills include expertise in disciplines related to bioethics, and writing academic and popular papers, legal and accounting expertise, IT skills, communications and social media experience. Volunteers are also encouraged to donate financially towards the network if they are able.
To become an Ordinary Member please donate here, or contact Gwen McCourt for details of how to make a bank transfer.
If you think that you may have skills or experience and the time to benefit the Network, please contact gmccourt@abnethics.org to express interest in becoming a Volunteer Member. Please outline your skills or experience, adding a short CV as appropriate. Our ability to utilise people’s skills will depend on the current needs of the Network and the nature of your experience. We will not be able to take up every offer to become a Volunteer Member. We will, however, endeavour to let you know within three weeks.
We collect data from members only for the sake of the aims of the Network and principally to keep in touch with members. Our full data protection policy can be seen here (link to policy).
All members will receive a regular digest/newsletter, which contains exclusive or advance content, as well as advance notice of events and courses.
